PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in Chhattisgarh State and work towards the vision of a world of hope, tolerance and social injustice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security. ”PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN” is an independent, not for profit, non- religious Non- Governmental organization registered under the society registration act 1973.
PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN” draws strength from its regional diversity, resources and experiences to promote innovative solutions and advocate for regional responsibility.
PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN works to facilitate lasting change by: –

PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN in Chhattisgarh: Started in Durg district of Chattisgarh in April 2002 after signing a bilateral agreement with CARE India for the implementation and execution of INHP –II program in two blocks of Dhamtari district. Again got opportunity in 2003 for three districts Durg, Dhamtari and Kanker for facilitating the process of implementation “RACHNA” program with the partnership of CARE India C.G.
After the initiation of third phase, organization again identified for future partnership in INHP-III project with CARE.
Organization extended its support to the WCD and also contributed a lot with Health department for improving the accessibility of the RCH services to the end line beneficiaries
Structure of the Organization
Organization has a decentralized structure in Chhattisgarh, H.Q. based at Durg district and three branch offices at different location that surrounds the operational catchments of Kanker, Dhamtari and Power House. Head office is primarily responsible overseeing the administrative and financial matters, branch and field offices are responsible for Project implementation and management.
Functional Description of the Organization
1. Integrated Nutrition and Health Program (CARE – Funded): The goal of Health and Nutrition Program is to enhance the capabilities of vulnerable people, especially women and children to attain the health behaviors and services they need for better life in a better community. PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN seeks to address the underlying cases of health and nutrition problems and in corporate its health programming into a household livelihood security framework.
2. Water and Sanitation Program: PRATIGYA VIKAS SANSTHAN is running the capacity building and awareness generation program in the Water shed project in durg distt.
3 Health services: The organization has been appointed as a Field NGO at Kanker district by the district health society to undertake RCH initiatives at underserved and unsrved areas under NRHM. The programme basically aims at improved Immunization coverage, Improved Institutional delivery and !00 % ANC & PNC to pregnant women. The organization has successfully completed the two phases of the Programme and in a span of 18 months it has achieved 80 % of the objectives (which were otherwise planned in three years)
4. Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojna: Organization is also involved in the empowering the rural and tribal women through the SGSY scheme in coordination district JILA PANCHAYAT and NBARD helping the women in SHG formation for economic empowerment in Durg, Dhmatari and Kanker district.
5. Capacity Building Programs:
| • | Organization professionals are also involved in various capacity building programs especially in STI and HIV/AIDS in Durg district through main straming unit CARE CG. |
| • | Organization professionals are also involved in NRHM programme (addocent Health) Awareness and anemia checkup health camp. |
6. HIV/AIDS: Organization is engaged with TI programme single male migrant organization has well trained staff in this specific wing and se have identified several key hot points in the district with the help of C.G. SACS for our intervention.
Working Strategy
Organization stepped in to these identified areas for conducting counseling and education sessions we have also established linkages with private clinics under they provides treatment to identified program participants . In addition to that we have also developed network with chemists unions and migrant for condom promotion and start making them peer educators.
Comparative Advantages: For the last 10 years organization is working in Chhattisgarh and it has supported many program of health and WCD department. On account of 10 years successful story and with significant infrastructure in place, organization is today working in three district of Chhattisgarh with excellent relation with govt. counterparts and other Non governmental organization. Awarded to Chhattisgrag Rajya mahila Ayog Raipur best work of mother and child development in kanker district.
Organization believes in implementing the project in partnership and in close coordination with the government. These relationship help sustain interventions after organization exits from the area, at the end of project. Organization works as a facilitator, Innovator and demonstrator to raise the awareness and to empower people so that they could get the services required and problem solved.
Monitoring Mechanism: The overall success of the program is basically depends haw frequently the program is being monitored Organization has developed set of tools by using it periodically we analyze the trend of the specific interventions being carried out of specific program.
This would help in analyzing the impact of the interventions and activities undertaken by the program and it gives an opportunity for taking appropriate changes in the program direction.
The organization has sell laid out linkages with community level institutions and we advocate for their viable engagement in program planning implementation and monitoring.
Organization strongly believes in establishing community based monitoring mechanism with the engagement of project area CBO etc.
